Tracy Notes About This Show

Our costumes for this show are farcical, time-period based, and a little funny. We have kept them acceptable for all but the most conservative of school productions. We created the BUST OF DOMINA, with a replaceable "broken nose" and stylized hair. Of course, we offer the matching wig for the actress.

Plot Synopsis

Story of Senex, an old man, his wife Domina, their son Hero, and their slaves; Hysterium - head slave and Pseudolus - slave to Hero. Hero loves Philia, a virgin recently purchased by Lycus and sold to Miles Gloriosus, captain of the Roman warriors. Hero promises Pseudolus his all-important freedom if he, Pseudolus, can get Philia away from Miles. Pseudolus resorts to numerous desperate antics and schemes to win the lovely Philia for his owner, and thus win his own freedom. The story is semi-narrated by Pseudolus acting as Prologus, except at the beginning of Act II when Senex assumes that responsibility. We love this wonderful farce, and have taken many opportunities to reflect the silliness of the script in our costumes.
